Which lenses are available for prescription?

We are frequently adding to our prescription lenses range which means many of our popular styles are available for customers who require prescription coloured contacts. Please see the full section here.

Additionally, we are able to offer plus and minus powers of prescription/corrective lenses as well as measurements for astigmatism. Please note, the options displayed on the website are the only types currently available. Please consult your optometrist or eye doctor to verify which would best suit your eyes.

Some lenses are available as both prescription and non-prescription variants. Many of these lenses are linked so if you find a pair of non-prescription lenses you like, there may be an option to view the equivalent prescription style.

How long do lenses last once opened?

The duration of our contact lenses varies. All durations are displayed on the packaging. 

Please note the time period begins from the first time you wear your lenses. Under no circumstances should the lenses be worn once this time period has ended. 

We offer One Day, 30 Day and 90 Day lenses. The daily lenses can be worn once then disposed of. The 30 day and 90 day lenses can be worn multiple times as long as care is taken to properly clean and store the lenses in between each use.

Can anyone wear contact lenses?

Our contact lenses are not designed to correct eye defects which is why it is essential to contact your eye doctor or optometrist to check your eye suitability before wearing our lenses.

I have worn contact lenses before. Does this mean I can wear cosmetic contact lenses?

Your prescription lenses may have specific qualities that make them suitable for your eye type, therefore, it is still advisable to check with a professional before purchasing cosmetic contact lenses.

My lenses aren’t comfortable/aren’t sitting correctly in my eye.

This could be for a number of reasons. The first and most simple reason could be that the lens is inside out. To check if your lens is the right way around place it on the tip of your finger. It should take a natural bowl shape. If this does not happen then the lens is probably inside out. Gently turn the lens the right way and test again.

Make sure you have soaked your fresh lens in solution for at least 2 hours before use and be sure to blink repeatedly when you first insert your lenses.

If the lenses irritate your eyes at all or cause soreness and redness then remove them immediately.

My lenses don't look as expected.

There are a few reasons why your lenses may not give the result you expected. All our lenses are designed to transform your eye colour but the results may vary.

When purchasing lenses from Coloured Contacts it should be noted that the product images are for illustrative purposes only. The colour and visual effect from both the product image and the Virtual Mirror digital representation is subject to small variations.

It is also important to note that the colour and effect will look different depending on your natural eye colour. For example, some of our lenses are better suited to lighter eye colours due to their transparency levels.

My UV contact lenses don't glow in the dark.

Our UV lenses are designed to create a glow effect when under a UV reactive light – they are NOT glow-in-the-dark lenses.  As highlighted in the product description, these lenses will require an ultraviolet light to see the UV effect.

When not under a UV blacklight, the bright colours of the lenses are intended to give a fun and effective finishing touch to your costume or outfit.  

I can't see through blind contact lenses

As highlighted in our product descriptions, the design on our blind contact lenses pupil is an opaque single colour effect. The block colouration covers the iris and the pupil in order to achieve a full blind effect. 

This will greatly obscure your vision and it will be hard to see clearly when wearing your lenses. We recommend using these lenses for photoshoots or wearing a single lens in order to have vision in one eye. Please take care when wearing these lenses and do not attempt to drive.
